Perfect Packing Tips & Advices for your Baggage

How to pack boxes before you move or travel

  • Pack with the hardened cardboard boxes we provide for you, that protect your shipment against the shock that may occur when coming in contact to each other;
  • Check the gross weight limited of these boxes and do not exceed their limit;
  • Organization is the key. First of all sort, cull, prepare and focus on the task ahead. Create a 'Priorities Box' to isolate vital items (like bed legs, shelf lugs, furniture keys);
  • For an easy unpack and making your moving faster, label the boxes and bags correctly in order to identify what is inside after the relocation and not forgetting what's in each box;
  • The most difficult items are oddly shaped, delicate ornaments, tiny things (they can easily get lost) and breakables that don't fit easily into a carton. Old newspapers are always handy for wrapping breakable goods. The trick to avoid breakages lies in adequate packing materials, use white butcher’s paper, towels, tissue paper, bubble wrap), protecting fine extended sections, careful, secure placement in cartons;
  • Secure heavy objects to prevent shifting;
  • Clearly mark fragile items for us to have extra care and be extra careful;
  • For small items of furniture, such as chairs, coffee tables or bookcases for example, it is better if they are dismantled or flat packed;
  • Please read carton assembly and packing instructions, printed on the flap of each carton, before you start packing;
  • Maximum weight limits vary from country to country. Generally it is up to 30 kg - 40 kg. The 'Quick Quote' will inform you of the maximum allowed weight for your cartons for each country destination. In case a carton exceeds the maximum weight the driver will ask you to repack the items in another carton;
  • For some items, such as TV set, computer, snowboard, surf board, skis, mountain bike, golf clubs, musical instruments we recommend you to use their own manufacturer’s boxes. If you no longer have the box, we will collect and pack these items for which there may be a packing charge;
  • If there are too many cartons that are overweight and require repacking the driver will be forced to resume his Driving Schedule and you will have to arrange another day for collection. Unfortunately, you will be charged for the additional collection service;
  • Pack a bag of personal items you'll need during the move (change of clothes, toiletries, medicine, maps, food, and drinks). Keep it in an easy-to-find place when you pack;
  • Keep a medical kit accessible;
  • If you have children, pack a bag of games and activities for the trip.
